There are two main methods to create handmade soaps :
Cold process involves mixing oils and butters with lye for about 20 minutes without heating. This method preserves the beneficial properties of your ingredients and is ideal for beginners.
Hot process soap making heats the soap mixture to around 120°C to accelerate the saponification process. While faster, it requires more attention to temperature control and is often preferred by experienced crafters.
We recommend starting with the cold process method if you’re new to soap making.
